"Hanover, NH - The Brown equestrian squad rode to a third place finish at the Ivy League Championship over the weekend, finishing behind only Cornell and host school Dartmouth on a cold morning in Hanover. A number of Brown riders turned in strong performances, led by sophomore Marissa Fuerst, who was crowned the League Grand Champion in the Advanced Walk Trot Canter."

Fuerst Draft (Merlin) owned by Karen Fuerst and trained by Winter Haven Farm, ridden by John Abbott, places 3rd in the Aiken "Horse Show on the Woods" Hunter Classic after 3 huge qualifying rounds!!! In addition "Merl the Pearl" makes the cover of the Spring edition of the Aiken Horse!!

I feel a pause in his stride, he asks me “are you sure”? My leg closes in response “yes”. He clearly says to me “ok, hold on” as we clear a 4ft oxer! A relationship like no other, a bond of trust between Toscanini and I that is undeniable. This magnificent partner was a ex race horse, a failed son of the great Charismatic, bought off a cell phone picture at dead end race track in Pennsylvania. With love and time, my race horse became a quiet, masterful upper level jumper of extraordinary talent! Nini, was a gift, a whim turned magic, he has been and always will be my “once in a lifetime” horse.. I will miss you my friend!!!
